Fish Window Cleaner

At the Haven Conference this week, we were given some fabulous swag from various vendors. One such vendor was from Fish Window Cleaning. They were at the conference to promote their Fish Foam window cleaner.

Since we have four dogs, and two sets of sliding glass doors and our front door has glass inserts, I can always use a good window and glass cleaner. But because we also have two parrots, we have to be really careful with what we use around them. I did ask the vendor if they knew whether this was “bird-safe”, but they weren’t sure. After looking it up online, I see that we shouldn’t use anything that is in aerosol form around them. So, I tried this out in our family room – far away from the birds. (For the windows around the birds, I use a mixture of vinegar and water.)

Dirty windows

Dirty windows

In my absence during the conference, the cleaning fairies didn’t show up to clean the windows, which actually worked in my favor in terms of this experiment. Also working in my favor is that today is a miserable day outside, with dark grey skies and quite a bit of rain. Therefore, it’s a perfect day to try cleaning the windows.

So, I sprayed on the Fish Foam.

And then, I wiped it off with paper towels. It took the nose art right off! Some other products have been known to smear it around a bit, before having to add a second application to remove it completely. But the Fish Foam worked very quickly, taking it all off with the first swipe of the towel. And all my son’s handprints disappeared too. I think I put a little too much on, and had to follow up with a second set of paper towels to completely dry the window, but when I was done, the windows were clean, with no streaks.

Fish Foam gives you beautiful windows!

Have you ever noticed that it is really hard to take a picture of the dirt/fingerprints/dog boogers on glass windows head-on? My camera won’t focus on it, except from the side view.

I’d say this was a complete success!! Of course, the clean windows lasted about thirteen seconds before our “boys” heard the neighbor’s dogs and went to investigate. Such is the norm around here.  I am so glad I don’t have OCD – I’d be cleaning windows all day!

Have you tried Fish Foam yet? Did you love it?

Eliesa

By the way, while Fish Window Cleaning did give me the product for free, they did not ask me to do this review, or pay me for it. I wrote this review because I love to let you know about the great products I find and use. This one is a keeper!

  1. I will have to get some of this and try it…lots of NOSE ART around my house with my 3…I even have levels of art…high and low! Have a good day!

I think you buy it online – click the link at the top. I thought it was pretty great stuff. We have three levels, as two of the dogs are about the same height. Occasionally, I get a stray cat paw print from when they are stalking mosquitos. Why oh why do they have to put their noses ON the glass?? LOL!

  2. I have found a great window cleaner. It’s microfiber cloth and all you need is water. One to wet and clean and one to dry. No chemical required. I buy them at Menards. They come two to a pack one blue one green.

Do you know what they are called? We don’t have a Menards around here. I’d love to look them up!

Looks like fish foam works great – with 4 fur babies (all chewing on greasy hooves) nose art isn’t the only thing I have to get off my doors LOL

  4. I used the Fish Foam on Saturday and I loved it! I usually use Windex and try and catch the run from it as it drips down the window. Fish Foam is awesome. No drips and I feel like I am not using as much product to get the job done.

Yep! And besides all that, my son thinks it’s fun to spray the windows with foam, and then draw shapes in it! Hey, whatever makes him want to help with windows, right?!

Hey Donna! Did you and I talk about the red tulip fabric spray at lunch??

  5. Yes, I’ve used Fish Foam before. It’s great stuff! In my post, I found that you have to use paper towels, and not newspaper.

I haven’t used newspaper for windows before – how does it work? Doesn’t the ink get smeared?
