Kitchen Cousins – I heart them

So, one of my obsessions with managing a blog is to see what my stats are. Where people are coming from, what search terms they use to find me, etc. Well, a few of the most popular terms are “how tall is Anthony Carrino?”, “Anthony Carrino” and “Kitchen Cousins”. A while back, I wrote a post about meeting Anthony Carrino and John Colanari from HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins in Broward County (Florida) with my daughter, which you can find here.  Since then, lots of visitors have come to see if I’ve given them the answer they were looking for… And so, because I like to give you what you need to know, I asked him!

You can check it out here on Facebook. Or here is the screen shot.

Just how tall is Anthony Carrino?

So, here is your answer to how tall is Anthony Carrino!

Can’t see it? He’s 5’10″. And more importantly, he is the nicest guy in person. So is John Colonari, his cousin and co-star on the show.

Adorable!

I just about fainted when I saw that he responded! Yes, I’m still 17 at heart :p I could definitely use these guys to help with our kitchen. I just wish they would come to Florida! I haven’t shared pics of our kitchen before, because I’m embarrassed by it’s blahness. But because I am going to be changing it soon… this is our UGLY kitchen now.

Our kitchen now

Our kitchen now.

I hate the black countertops and the backsplash – it’s like a black hole, swallowing all the light.. The copper drawer and door pulls are not my style. Don’t like the cabinet color with the counter tops, and the cabinets could surely be bigger/taller/more awesome… It’s a mess. Everything is falling apart and/or cheap. The black appliances are old and don’t work. It takes 45 minutes to warm up the oven. And only two of four burners work correctly. I want a new kitchen! I have a Pinterest Board with some ideas that I would love to implement in our new kitchen. It looks like quite a few of the pins are missing, but you can get an idea of what I would love our kitchen to look like. Light, bright, happy. But for now, I am going to paint the cabinets, and the backsplash too! Yes, it’s granite, but I don’t love it – heck, I don’t even like it! And when we finally can get a new kitchen, it will be gone anyway. Might as well make it livable, right? So, there you have it – the answer everyone has been looking for, and a picture of my blah kitchen. My work today is done! So, what would you change about your kitchen? Would you just die if the Kitchen Cousins came to your house?! Thanks for stopping by, Eliesa

  1. Oh, I dislike several things about my kitchen as well! Although I do love the unique shape and location of the room, I’d love to change just about everything else about it. My kitchen is actually octagon shaped and is centered between our great room and the formal dining room (which actually is a ‘formal’ catch-all room)! It’s more, or less, in the center of our home…which I love! BUT, the white tile countertop and backsplash just drives me nuts trying to keep that dang grout clean! I want so desperately to replace it with a solid piece, whether slate, granite, or this new stained concrete I’ve seen. I also would love new cabinets, while I’m dreaming! Who knows…a remodeled kitchen just might improve my cooking skills! ; ) teehee

For the place that I spend the most time in, I just want it to be beautiful and functional! I never thought about having to clean the grout on the backsplash – we’ve had full granite back splashes in the last two house we owned. I will keep that in mind when I get to redo mine -thanks for the tip :)

  2. Unless you build your own, I’m sure every house has its +’s and -’s! I’m just a fanatic about keeping that white clean, and with 2 teenagers and a hubby that like to play chef, you’d be surprised at what accumulates! ; )
