I have an admission to make. (yes, another one) My clothes stink. Well, they did. They stank no matter what I did to get the stink out. I tried numerous laundry detergents - even the expensive HE ones. I used a little soap. I used a lot of soap. I added a little bit bleach to EVERY load - not good for black socks, by the way. We live in south Florida, a place known for it's bugs. We have a ton of mosquitos, and we have tried many ways to get rid of them. We have a bug zapper, which does work, but not nearly enough. We would need about ten of them to really make the outside a comfortable place to hang out during the summer months. At about $100 a pop, plus having outlets put in around the house to run them, well, that would get expensive very quickly. Maybe a better title for this post would be "I'm a plant murderer". A few months back, I was inspired by this pin, and many others like it, to start a vegetable garden. It looked easy enough - plant seeds in little pods, use old concrete blocks to build a raised bed, fill with garden soil, add plants, water, watch them grow, weed the beds and pick lovely veggies/make lots of salads. My Daughter’s 18th Birthday

My daughter turned 18 the other day. To be honest, the idea of her being an "adult" both terrifies and excites me. I can't get over that my baby is old enough to vote, buy lottery tickets and make her own decisions, etc. I see her making plans for someday moving out, and it brings me to tears. I know it's such an exciting time in her life and I'm happy to see what a fabulous person has grown into, and I know she will do great things, but she is still my "baby" and always will be. Sorry to have not posted in a while. The last two weeks have flown by. My husband took some vacation time and we went to visit his brother and his awesome family up in South Jersey. Then we joined them for a few days in the Berkshires for some snow tubing and skiing. I can't get over how easily my ten-year-old son took to it - like he was born to do it. Things have been a little quiet around here in terms of projects. I know, shocking, right? Well, to be honest, I've been kind of stuck in a rut on a couple of things.
